Age Appropriate Content Policy – Shiminly

This policy explains how Shiminly Inc. ("Shiminly," "we") designs and reviews course materials to ensure they are suitable for learners across four age bands: 7 9, 10 12, 13 15, and 16 18.

1. Author self check against this matrix.
2. Peer review by another curriculum designer.
3. Safety & Compliance audit (COPPA/DPDPA/PDPL).
4. Quarterly re audit for existing lessons.
5. Escalation to Head of Curriculum if a topic is flagged by parents, learners, or educators.

  • Violence & Weapons: No graphic content. Historical references permitted from 13-15 band upward.
  • Romantic Relationships: Light references only from 13-15 band; no explicit sexual content.
  • Mental Health Discussions: Covered from 13 15 band with teacher notes; crisis resources always provided.
  • Political or Religious Content: Presented objectively; no persuasion or endorsement. Not introduced before 13-15 band.
  • AI Bias Examples: Shown only in 16-18 band with critical thinking prompts.

4. Review & Escalation Workflow

1. Author self-check against this matrix.
2. Peer review by another curriculum designer.
3. Safety & Compliance audit (COPPA/DPDPA/PDPL).
4. Quarterly re-audit for existing lessons.
5. Escalation to Head of Curriculum if a topic is flagged by parents, learners, or educators.

Use the Report Content button in any lesson or e mail content safety@shiminly.com. We acknowledge within 2 business days and resolve or provide reasoning within 15 business days.
